Race report by Hunter Burt
The South island 1/8 IC offroad buggy and truggy champs were held in Dunedin NZ on the 4-6th october at ORCCC's offroad track. The event didnt have a large number of entrants because of its close proximity in time to our national champs but there was still some great racing on finals day.

With consistent rain during the two weeks prior to the event the clay was moist and traction was high. After having a couple of setbacks in qualifying i ended up in a low final but felt my setup changes were correct for finals day.

On finals day I bumped my way to the main, happy with my driving and setup. Starting 5th on the grid behind the top 4 who had gone straight to the main from qualifying. After 8 minutes i moved into 2nd place behind Craig Underwood and for the next 47 minutes we were between 10 and 20 seconds apart. I swapped positions from 2nd to 3rd a few times but my focus was on craig and first position. My pit man toddy, managed to push my fuel stops out to over 9 minutes which helped me. At 55 minutes craig flamed out and i held the lead until the finish.

This was my second race with the XB9 and I am very happy with the buggy with two wins and a tq from two races.

Thanks to ORCCC ,Go Racing NZ and zoom resources for stocking all the gear a racer needs.
